Yasmeen Ghauri was born in Mach 23 1971 in Montreal, Quebec,Canada.Moin Ghauri is her father from Pakistan and worked as a IMAM (Islamic preacher) .Her mother Linda Gauri from German origin .Her father was a strict Muslim and her mother was open minded.So Ghauri had a troublesome childhood and she was constantly tormented by her classmates while in school. She began to withdraw from those her age, preferring to associate with older children in her neighborhood. Ghauri was reportedly working at a McDonalds restaurant at the age of 17 when she was discovered by Montreal hairdresser and salon owner Joseph Del Tortoon .Yasmeen was among the elite fashion models working in the early nineties in modeling industry.

Yasmeen Gauri's first step towards a modeling career by signing with a Montreal modeling agency. In 1990, Yasmeen moved to New York, where she began modeling for Versace.
