Natalie Hershlag who is better known as Natalie Portman was born on 9th June 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel.Her father, Avner Hershlag, is an Israeli doctor and her mother Shelley Stevens, is an American homemaker who works as her father's agent.Portman's maternal ancestors were Jewish immigrants from Austria and Russia, and her paternal ancestors were Jews who moved to Israel from Poland and Romania. Her grandfather was an economics professor in Israel.When Portman was three years old, her family moved to the United States, where her father received his medical training.Her family first lived in Washington, D.C., where Portman attended Charles E.
