Shashkala Sheshardi who is popularly known as Meenakshi Sheshadri was born on 16th November 1963 in Sindri,Bihar(now Jharkhand),India.Her father was a Tamil FCI employee in Sindri Plant and her mother was a renowneded classical dancer.Her primary education has started at Sindri .Later She has completed her graduation from Carmel Convent School,New Delhi.She has learned all four ( Bharatnatyam,Manipuri,Kachpudi,Odissi) form of Indian classical dance.She has two siblings as one younger brother and another younger sister .Meenakshi Sheshadri's height 5'5'',weight 59 kg(now) and vital status 35 X 27 X 37.
Meenakshi Sheshadri has started her carrier as a classical dancer at the age of four as her mother was her main mentor.Meenakshi said when she was a child in Sindri, Bihar, her dancer-mother had taught her Bharatanatyam and the method of stage shows.
Meenakshi Sheshadri has won the Miss India contest in 1981 at age 17. She is the youngest woman to be crowned Miss India.After that she has never seen back for her carrier.
Meenakshi Sheshadri was introduced by the Bharat Kumar called Manoj Kumar to play the romantic lead opposite his younger brother(Rajiv Goswami) in his film Painter Babu.The film flopped but Shashikala Sheshadri, re-christened Meenakshi Sheshadri, made an impact with her good looks and dancing abilities in Bollywood. 
Meenakshi Sheshadri was kept by the showman of The Bollywood Subhash Ghai in his upcoming movie Hero and Meenakshi's success story began.Hero is the one of classic hits of Bollywood film history.
Meenakshi Sheshadri has acted several films opposite leading stars including Amitabh Bachchan made Meenakshi hot property. She was flooded with offers and acted in almost all big-banner films. On the personal front, the actress was known for her reserved ways. She had gone on to earn the epithet of 'Ice Maiden'.

Meenakshi is now the mother of two children 9 years old daughter Kendra and 5 years old son Sanjosh.But since the weather in New York did not suit her, she moved to Dallas, Texas,USA.Meenakshi teaches Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Odissi dance in Texas.
